"Empire of Lust" Kang Han-na and Sin Ha-gyoon's hot bed scene

Actress Kang Han-na and actor Sin Ha-gyoon has been a hot and steamy topic.

Kang mentioned that the bed scene with Sin Ha-gyoon was the toughest scene she had to do, at the premiering of the movie at CGV on the 24th.

She said, "The emotional scenes with Sin Ha-gyoon was the toughest as it wasn't just about intimacy but innocent connection between the man and the woman".

"There's always pressure in a bed scene. It has to be expressed just right and show just the right amount of emotions".

When will Shin Ha Kyun succeed again?

Source: OSEN via Hancinema.net

Sin Ha-gyoon's first adult rated film "Empire of Lust" recorded 320,000 in the first week of its release and came in second at the box office. Despite the fact that it is adult rated, it only recorded half the record of "Kingsman: The Secret Service".

The results can only be disappointing as the movie was released in great anticipation with Sin Ha-gyoon's intense 'bed scene' alongside Jang Hyeok and Kang Ha-neul's performance. The audience gave a thumbs up to the actors' performance but they don't think the sexuality is sexual enough and the story is just not that great.

Sin Ha-gyoon is an actor whose talent and reputation is acknowledged at the same time. Although he has an outstanding number of fans, he hasn't had a big break for the past 3~4 years. Of course, he hasn't had total failure yet because he's so well known but there he hasn't hit the jackpot either. The 2011 movie "The Front Line" started off with 2.9 or so million, then 2012 "Running Man" with 1.4 million and 2014 "Big Match" with 1.1 million.

"Empire of Lust" is his first attempt at a historical and one he prepared his 'perfect body' for so being beaten by "Kingsman" by double score, can be a bit painful.

If "Empire of Lust" doesn't succeed, he would have nothing to show for the past 3 years. However, he isn't at risk of dropping to the slumps as he made a good impression in the MBC drama "Mister Baek" last year.

There's always a possibility that he'll make it big soon.

Sin Ha-gyoon puts importance in the fact that he attempted at a new character in "Empire of Lust". Prior to the release of the movie, he'd said, "I am glad it's over without anyone getting hurt. I don't put much importance in anything whenever I film something. However, I think the fact that I tried something new is important".

Shin Ha Kyun, a man hard to follow up on

Source: The Fact via Hancinema.net

photo577266.jpg

When my junior reporter told me Sin Ha-gyoon asked for an interview, his voice became shaky. We all know Shin Ha-gyoon is one actor hard to get an interview with.

This is the first time meeting him. When all the reporters get together to have a few drinks, his name is mentioned at least once, for being so hard to get.

It's not like he bites or scratches the reporters. He doesn't swear or get angry with them. He's well mannered and you know what they say, manners make a person.

He made eye contact before saying anything. He's good looking. He's soft face displays not only signs for comfort, but the stubbornness of an actor as well. He has a nice voice, too. He's just like how he is on TV or dramas. He is a shy person, though.

As soon as the interview started, the female reporters started to feel hot. He'd been answering in short answers. Everyone knows that the hardest kind of people to talk to are the ones who give short answers. I can feel my junior reporters sending me SOS signs.

The day's key word was 'exposure'. He exposed most of his body in the movie "Empire of Lust". His lean body muscles and hip line was sure to have affected several women.

This made Shin Ha-gyoon surprised and he actually gave a long answer this time. It was satisfactory but I felt bad for asking him about 'exposure'. I thought he'd be uncomfortable so I changed the topic back to the movie. We could tell he was a determined actor when it came to acting. We wrapped up the interview and when I complimented him about his body he was modest but happy about it.

His face seemed cold but when he smiled he was such a nice looking man. The interview wasn't boring at all. It was fun.

Other reporters might say it's surprising but if I had a chance to do it again, I would interview him. If someone is afraid of interviewing him, I would say, "Do it. He'll open up if you try hard enough".

Classic films get another shot in Korean theaters

Source: INSIDE Korea JoongAng Daily

Classics are worth revisiting for they still manage to resonate with present-day audiences.

That is why re-releasing old films has become a trend in Korean cinemas over the past few years.

Recently, a number of popular older movies are making a comeback, up to 30 years after their original release.

One blast from the past is the legendary romance flick by Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”

Anybody who has experienced the pain of lost love can remember shedding a few tears while watching this film, which depicts a heart-wrenching love story between Joel (Jim Carrey) and Clementine (Kate Winslet).

The previously inseparable couple now can’t even stand to eat at the same table. Hurt and disappointed, Clementine decides to erase her memories of Joel. Feeling betrayed, Joel also decides to have his memories altered, only to realize he wants to keep those memories, no matter how painful they may be.

The film is revisiting the Korean audience to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its release here.

Also joining the re-release club are the first and second installments of the hit “Back to the Future” series.

The sensational ’80s sci-fi movies are about the time-traveling adventures of a teenage boy named Marty (Michael J. Fox) in a time machine invented by Dr. Brown (Christopher Lloyd).

To commemorate the date of Oct. 21, 2015, which is when Marty arrives in the future in the second movie, digitally remastered versions of “Back to the Future” (1985) and “Back to the Future Part II” (1989) were released worldwide last week.

Amid the buzz about what director Robert Zemeckis got right and wrong about the future, the films are enjoying a surprising level of success.

Since they opened in Korean theaters on Oct. 21, the movies have collected 20,000 ticket admissions as of Tuesday.

Local mystery thriller “Joint Security Area” (2000), one of the early works of star director Park Chan-wook, has also been re-released for its 15th anniversary after digital remastering.

Starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Lee Young-ae and Shin Ha-kyun, the film revolves around the mysterious death of a North Korean soldier in the demilitarized zone.

Due to the better-than-expected response from audiences, production company Myung Films has decided to continue screening the film at its headquarters in Paju, Gyeonggi, through the end of the year.
